Alvaro Zinos-Amaro grew up in Europe, mostly, and despite the advice of his betters earned a BS in Theoretical Physics at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM) in 2003 and studied creative writing through various writing programs.
An avid long-time reader and scribbler of speculative fiction, Alvaro made his first short fiction sale in 2008 (followed by multiple others), was a Finalist in the Writers of the Future contest in 2010and made his first professional sale in 2012, a novella to be published in book form (details forthcoming).
Alvaro has also published numerous reviews and critical essays in The New York Review of Science Fiction, Strange Horizons, The Internet Review of Science Fiction, Salon Futura, Foundation and elsewhere.
Alvaro currently resides in sunny Irvine, California, where he has a full-time job with one of the major telecom companies.
