Jim Svejda Podcasts, Oscar Scores


I didn't blog quite as much as I wanted to during Feb, but that's OK because I was still doing a bunch of stuff. Time to get caught up.

For starters, here's links to three interesting podcasts with film music composers currently up for Oscars. They're conducted by the inimitable Jim Svejda over at KUSC.
There's a lot of fun moments in these podcasts. I really liked the fact that Zimmer not only referenced but recommended Patrick Gower's superb television music for the long-running British Sherlock Holmes TV series. There's a violin trace of it here and there in Zimmer's score, which feels like a loving reference.
