Scotophobic

My review of Down to a Sunless Sea by Mathias B. Freese is now up at The Fix.

Movie updates (a couple have accumulated, since my last mention). Watched:

• Persepolis, dense and highly recommended, currently at 96% on RT
• 3:10 To Yuma, which despite strong performances and direction contained an ending that defies all credibility
• El Orfanato, of which the most chilling sequences cannot be diluted or undermined by its own sappy, faltering conclusion
• Gotham Knight, an awesome animated DVD that takes place between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight

On the horror front:

• Boogeyman 2, almost unwatchably rotten--but hey, I learned the word scotophobic
• Saw IV. What can you say? Tobin Bell is just nasty fun.
